1. Choose a country that your ancestors came from.
2. Write a description of what this place was like and what your family did there. Job, home life, relaxation, entertainment, etc.
3. Descibe the time, 1945ish--World War II, 1930s the Great Depression-(in the US), 1845--Irish potato famine, 1992--Bosnian Civil War, etc.
4. What made your family leave their homeland. Nazi's invading the town, starvation, no work.
This is the heart of your story! Make me laugh, cry, and cheer for your family!

6. What were some of the struggles your family members faced moving to this new place?
7. How did they overcome these struggles?
8. What about citizenship, people's acceptance of your culture--how welcome did you feel coming to the US?
